For the second year in a row, BBVA Institutional Custody was named the Best Subcustodian in Spain in 2013 in the World's Best Subcustodian Banks annual survey prepared by the prestigious journal Global Finance, to be published in the July/August edition.

At the same time, BBVA Bancomer has been recognised for first time by this magazine as Best Subcustodian in Mexico in 2013, a milestone that highlights the quality of BBVA Bancomer services.

As stated in Global Finance's press release of 15 May 2013, the magazine's editors and reporters selected the winners from the institutions that reliably provide the best services in local markets and regions to global custodians, with input from expert sources.

The selection criteria included quality of service, customer relations, competitive pricing, smooth handling of exception items, technology platforms, post-trading operations, business continuity plans and knowledge of local regulations and practices.

The recognition echoes the Agent Banks in Major Markets Survey and the Agent Banks in Emerging Markets distinctions awarded by the journal Global Custodian in September 2012, citing BBVA and BBVA Bancomer as Top-Rated respectively in both the domestic customers and non-resident customer categories.

The latest distinction extended by Global Finance once again highlights the level of specialized services offered by BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking, considered a benchmark in the financial industry.
