BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking has participated in the placement of Finmeccanica's €700 million bond issue. Agencies' negative ratings did little to dampen investor appetite a year after the Italian industrial enterprise's latest issue.
Bids for the 4.5% 7-year bonds reached €3.1 billion, quadruple the initial offer amount. Final buyers included top-tier European institutional investors of a variety of nationalities.
Also taking part in the deal in addition to BBVA were Banca Intesa, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Barclays, BNP Paribas, Citi, Commerzbank, Crédit Agricole, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JP Morgan, RBS, Santander, Société Générale and Unicredit.
