BBVA Bancomer has acted as exclusive financial advisor of the Mexican company Alsea in its purchase of 72% of the Zena Group, leader in multi-brand catering in Spain. The deal, worth €262 million, gives the Mexican company entry into Spain.

For Adrián Otero, Head of Global Clients & Investment Banking of BBVA Bancomer, it is "a strategic landmark for Alsea, as it allows the company to continue to diversify geographically and enter Europe. It also confirms BBVA Bancomer's capacity to execute cross-border deals and provide comprehensive added-value solutions for its clients."
 
With this deal the Mexican company has bought a company that with has brands that Alsea already operates successfully abroad, like "Burger King" and "Domino's Pizza", as well as restaurants such as "Foster's Hollywood", "La Vaca Argentina", "Cañas y Tapas" and "Il Tempietto", at a total of 427, owned or  operated under a franchise.
 
In addition, Alsea has 2,000 establishments in 5 countries.
 
BBVA Bancomer is a leader in corporate and investment banking in Mexico, where its position has been endorsed by the recent Best Investment Bank in Mexico award from the magazine "Euromoney".
