The International Financial Institutions unit (IFI) has organized a new edition of the "BBVA IFI Summit" conferences entitled "Transaction Banking for Financial Institutions: Living in a Changing Environment". BBVA's campus in La Moraleja, Madrid, was the venue for this conference which is becoming increasingly relevant in the transactional world.

The event brought together 40 of the main banks in the world with whom BBVA maintains correspondent relations, with the aim of boosting the IFI business. Worth noting are the more than 90 participants and 20 countries represented by the banks participating in this year's edition, a significant increase over previous editions.

This 4th conference was very productive, as it reinforces the transactional business and enables stable relationships to be developed with correspondent banks from around the world, while boosting networking among the attendees.

At the opening of the "BBVA IFI Summit", Enrique Jiménez-Herrera, head of Global Transaction Banking, highlighted the growing regulatory pressures and new capital requirements, which are changing the scenario for many activities, including transactional business between banks. Managers of the following BBVA areas took part in the event: Global Transaction Banking, BBVA Research, Regulation, Regulatory Compliance, Innovation and Investor Relations. SWIFT also participated in the summit.
