BBVA, best structured products house of the year in Latin America according to Structured ProductsMay 18, 2015
Once again this year, BBVA has been recognized as Latin America House of the Year at the Structured Products Americas Awards sponsored by the specialized publication Structured Products. Manuel Meza, Head of Global Structured Solutions Latin America, received the award at the gala ceremony held in Miami on May 14.
In particular, BBVA has shown its capacity to offer highly competitive prices in its quanto structured products (with no exchange-rate risk) on a wide range of underlying assets. In fact, clients and private banking professionals alike agree that BBVA is ahead of its local competition thanks to the quality of service and the products offered by the bank.
Particularly noteworthy in Latin America is the BBVA Group's positioning in Mexico, where it continues to be the absolute market leader. In 2014, BBVA had 49% of the market share in warrants and it was the main market issuer of structured note products, with a 43% share. Another country where BBVA maintains an outstanding position is Peru, where market volatility has driven client participation in equity products.
Global Structured Solutions is part of the professional team of BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking. It is comprised of over 30 professionals throughout the world working in product structuring and supporting the Global Markets sales teams.
