Global Finance magazine has recognized BBVA as Best Investment Bank in Spain and Mexico for the fifth and second year in a row, respectively, at its Awards for Excellence 2016. The bank has also been named for the first time Best Infrastructure Bank globally for the service it provides in this sector and its innovative financial proposals.

The publication has also recognized AENA's IPO, in which BBVA acted as global coordinator, as Best Infrastructure Deal of the Year.

With these awards, Global Finance recognizes the banks that understand the market, carry out a good execution and create innovative solutions for their clients at a time marked by the withdrawal of the European and American giants from the investment banking market.

When choosing the winners in the different categories, the Global Finance experts have assessed criteria such as market share, the number and size of the deals, the service and advice, the capacity for innovation and reputation.

With these awards, BBVA strengthens its position as a benchmark in infrastructure advice and finance and reaffirms itself as the leading investment bank in Spain and Mexico.
