BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking has won four of the Infrastructure Awards granted by the magazine LatinFinance thanks to its participation in the funding of the Chaglla hydroelectric project and the Transportadora Callao.

BBVA participates as a lending institution in the construction of the Chaglla energy plant (Peru), that has been distinguished with awards for Best Powering Financing, Best Renewable Energy Financing and Best Infrastructure Financing: Andes. This project is notable for the participation of three banks from developing countries at a time when credit from Europe is restricted.

LatinFinance awarded the distinction of Best Port Financing to Transportadora Callao (Peru) for funding the transporter belt and the dock for transporting minerals from the Andes to the port of Lima. BBVA's involvement in this project takes the form of a contribution to a 14-year loan underwritten by share issues, in the case the minerals fail to attain the debt's coverage ratio.

BBVA's participation in these two projects was also recognized by the Infrastructure Journal Awards and the Project Finance Deals of the Year.
