BBVA has been recognized by its customers more often than any other bank as the best derivatives provider in the Spanish market, as shown in the Risk España survey. This year's is the eleventh survey and the ninth time BBVA has been ranked first.

The magazine notes that BBVA has maintained its first place in the rankings year after year. In addition to the general category of best derivatives house, BBVA has topped the ranking in the equity derivatives category.

In relation to the problems facing the Spanish economy and political uncertainty, Juan Garat, Head of Sales of BBVA Global Markets, explains that "unfortunately this is nothing new, the context has been difficult over the last twelve months, so we are getting used to this situation, but we expect the uncertainty to come to an end in June". He also says that "we have been working on structured products in Spain for over 15 years. Our work with derivatives has been first-class and it has worked for many years".

In 2016, 15 years after its creation, Altura has once again been chosen as the best intermediary in Spain, consolidating its position as the country's best organized markets broker for the twelfth year in a row.

More than 338 market experts participated in the survey, including financial intermediaries, brokers, fund managers and large enterprises in Spain. They evaluated the best providers in 18 derivatives categories, including interest rates, currencies, equities, structured products and risk management advisory.

The latest distinction awarded by Risk España highlights once again the level of specialized services offered by BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking, considered a benchmark in the industry.
