BBVA supports Auna in a USD 765 million refinancing to strengthen its financial structure and fuel growth across Latin America

BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking acted as Joint Lead Arranger & Bookrunner in Auna’s new syndicated loan and as Joint Bookrunner in its USD 765 million international bond issuance—an integrated transaction that optimizes the company’s debt profile and reinforces its expansion across the region’s healthcare sector.

BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking is pleased to have supported Auna, one of Latin America’s leading healthcare groups with operations in Mexico, Peru, and Colombia, in its USD 765 million debt refinancing.

The transaction was structured as follows:

An international issuance of USD 365 million Senior Secured Notes, placed in New York and maturing in 2032; and

A new long-term amortizing syndicated loan of USD 400 million, denominated in Mexican pesos, maturing in 2030.

Through this refinancing, Auna extends the maturity profile of its debt, reduces financial expenses, and improves short-term liquidity—strengthening its capital structure and enhancing its ability to invest in strategic growth initiatives.

The transaction attracted strong demand from international institutional investors and included the participation of the International Finance Corporation (IFC)—a member of the World Bank Group—which subscribed 10% of the bond issuance and contributed USD 75 million to the syndicated loan, underscoring Auna’s financial strength and sustainable commitment.

Founded in 1989, Auna is one of the largest and most modern healthcare platforms in Latin America, focused on the prevention and treatment of complex diseases. Its network includes 31 healthcare centers—hospitals, outpatient and wellness facilities—with 2,333 beds and 1.4 million members enrolled in its health plans.
