BBVA CIB expands US Real Estate capabilities with senior hire in New York

BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) has appointed Timothy Bachman as Executive Director for Commercial Real Estate Finance, based in New York. This strategic hire strengthens BBVA’s commitment to expanding its presence in the U.S. real estate market and marks a major step in the growth of its Commercial Real Estate Finance (CREF) operations.

The appointment is part of BBVA CIB’s broader strategy to grow its specialized capabilities and talent base in key financial centers. With this hire, BBVA reinforces its long-term commitment to delivering real estate finance solutions to corporate and institutional clients in the U.S.

Reinforcing Commercial Real Estate Services
With over 20 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate law and finance, Timothy Bachman brings deep industry knowledge and leadership to BBVA CIB. In his new role, he will oversee underwriting, loan structuring, documentation, and compliance for new commercial real estate financing opportunities. He will report to Bruce Habig, Head of US Real Estate Finance, and lead efforts to build out BBVA’s direct loan origination capabilities.

Prior to joining BBVA, Bachman served as Managing Director and Deputy General Counsel at Corebridge Financial (formerly AIG), where he led the Commercial Real Estate Finance legal team and managed the structuring of loan originations. “We are proud to welcome Timothy to BBVA CIB’s Commercial Real Estate team,” said Regina Gil Hernández, Head of BBVA CIB USA.
