BBVA México co-leads Cemex syndicated loan for EUR750 million

BBVA Mexico acted as Joint Bookrunner, Joint Lead Arranger and Sustainability Agent in the refinancing of a sustainability-linked syndicated loan for Cemex, The total amount of the loan is EUR750 million, and is comprised as follows:

• A simple term loan of EUR 450 million maturing in 2029

• A revolving credit facility maturing for EUR300 million in 2028

Cemex will use the funds to increase the liquidity and flexibility of its comprehensive financing plan, which is aligned with its Future in Action program focused on developing products, solutions and processes with lower carbon emissions, aimed at making Cemex a net-zero company. It is currently ahead of its target of linking 50%  of its debt to this program by 2025 and is closer to its goal of 85% by 2030.
