BBVA Bancomer and Garanti have been chosen Country Winners in Mexico and Turkey in Global Finance's 16th World's Best Digital Bank Awards. BBVA won in Spain and Colombia in the Best Mobile Banking App and Best Information Security Initiatives sub-categories, respectively. The winning banks in the Corporate and Institutional segment were selected based on their customer digitization strategy, their digital service offering, the tangible benefits obtained from their digital and web initiatives, as well as the design and functionality of their mobile apps.
BBVA currently has a wide range of online banking products and direct channels that operate with high standards of security. Leticia Rodríguez, head of Transactional Services Mexico, said that "it is a great honor to receive this award, which is the result of the efforts made in innovation and technology in recent years".
BBVA received in Spain the award for the "Best Mobile Banking App" for Corporations and Institutions in Western Europe. According to Ignacio Echevarría, head of Transactional Services Europe, "the new BBVA net cash app enables customers to access the most common features of their online banking in a secure environment and with an agile and intuitive user experience".
For the second year in a row, BBVA net cash has been recognized in Colombia as the online banking with the Best Security Initiatives in Latin America. The award reflects the recognition of the ongoing work conducted by Transactional Services Colombia to expand the offering of security mechanisms for its customers, as well as the efficient initiatives implemented to identify and prevent fraud.
Transactional Services is the unit within BBVA that leads the digital transformation of companies and corporations, based on a comprehensive Cash Management offering on digital channels –online banking, direct channels, mobile banking–, complemented by other flow products on the channel, such as FX, Trade or Supply Chain Finance.
