BBVA advises Nutrave on its sale to Grupo Fuertes

BBVA has acted as exclusive financial advisor to Nutrave’s shareholders on the sale of the company to Grupo Fuertes, owner of ElPozo Alimentación, in a deal that expands the group’s presence in the poultry business. The mandate consolidates BBVA’s position as a reference advisor in animal protein deals across its key geographies and strengthens its positioning in the Food & Beverage sector.

Nutrave, a poultry company supplying and distributing chicken and hen meat and headquartered in Bargas (Toledo), has been acquired by Grupo Fuertes with the aim of strengthening the group's position in the poultry market.

With this acquisition, Grupo Fuertes continues to strengthen its presence in a strategically important consumer category, enabling it to maintain control and traceability throughout its production chain. Nutrave’s founding families will retain a stake in the company to support the Fuertes family during the operational transition.

BBVA has supported Nutrave’s shareholders throughout the entire process as exclusive financial advisor. The mandate highlights the bank’s specialisation in animal protein transactions, an area in which it brings deep knowledge of the value chain and of the dynamics shaping the sector’s evolution.

This expertise extends across the broader Food & Beverage sector, where BBVA combines M&A capabilities and specialised industry knowledge to structure significant transactions tailored to the specific characteristics of each process, both in the domestic market and in cross-border transactions.

"This transaction reflects the value of combining a deep understanding of an industry undergoing consolidation with execution closely aligned with the client's specific needs and circumstances. From the outset, our objective was to structure a competitive process that recognised the value created by Nutrave’s founding families over more than two decades while, at the same time, identifying an industrial partner with a long-term vision for the company," says Santiago Rodríguez Palacios, Managing Director, responsible for Consumer & Retail Advisory at BBVA .

The transaction reflects BBVA’s approach to the sector: specialised industry advisory tailored to the specific characteristics of each process and focused on supporting clients through the most significant decisions in their companies’ corporate lifecycle.
