BBVA named Best Sub-Custodian Bank in Spain and Peru by Global Finance in 2026
The financial publication has recognized the excellence of BBVA CIB’s custody services, granting the award in two of its key markets.
Global Finance magazine has named BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) the Best Sub-Custodian Bank in Spain and Peru in the 24th edition of its awards. This recognition once again positions the bank as a leading partner for custody and securities settlement services for institutional clients in both markets.
In Spain, BBVA has received this award continuously since 2012, a milestone that reflects the strength and consistency of its Global Securities Services business model. In Peru, the award highlights the consolidation of its value proposition in Latin America and the growing recognition of its capabilities across the region. In a complex and constantly evolving financial environment, the bank has maintained high service standards and strong operational execution capabilities.
This double recognition highlights one of BBVA’s key strengths: the combination of deep local market expertise with the global capabilities of an international financial institution. This approach enables the bank to anticipate clients’ operational needs and deliver a high-quality, tailored service across asset servicing, settlement, custody and other value-added services.
The awards presented by Global Finance rigorously assess financial institutions providing the best custody services at both global and regional levels. Winners are selected based on factors including service quality, client relationships, risk management, technological innovation and the ability to adapt to the ongoing regulatory and operational changes shaping the securities industry.
“The evolution of financial markets requires us to continue strengthening our technological and operational capabilities to provide the best possible service to our clients,” said Fernando García Rojo, Head of Sales for Global Securities Services at BBVA CIB. “This recognition reflects the trust our clients place in our teams. In a business where operational precision and technological adaptation are essential, we remain committed to delivering custody solutions that combine local expertise with BBVA’s global capabilities.”
With this latest distinction, BBVA CIB further strengthens its leadership in the securities business and reinforces its position as a leading provider of sub-custody services for institutional clients.
