BBVA named Latin America Derivatives Growth Franchise of the Year by GlobalCapital

BBVA has been named Latin America Derivatives Growth Franchise of the Year at the 2026 GlobalCapital Derivatives Awards, recognizing the continued growth and development of the bank’s derivatives franchise across the region.

The GlobalCapital Derivatives Awards recognize excellence across the global derivatives industry. BBVA received the award at the Americas ceremony held September 17 in New York.

BBVA has continued to expand its derivatives business across Latin America, combining deep local market expertise with the scale of its global platform. The bank has broadened its product offering and structuring expertise while extending its reach across markets and client segments, from large corporates and institutional investors to private banking and SME clients.

Recent developments include the expansion of BBVA’s derivatives offering into Uruguay, the launch of a new issuance program in Peru and continued investment in structured solutions across Latin America. The bank has also broadened its reach across client segments, with its derivatives business serving companies ranging from SMEs to some of the region’s largest corporates and institutions.

BBVA has also played a leading role in a number of significant financing and hedging transactions. In Mexico, the bank acted as hedge coordinator across three landmark Mexican peso hedging mandates totaling approximately $1.39 billion in aggregate notional. BBVA also supported major sovereign and institutional transactions in Colombia, Argentina, Panama and Brazil, drawing on its local market presence and global structuring and execution expertise.
