BBVA Mexico participated in Fibra EXI’s (FEXI) follow-on offering for MXN 4.299 billion
BBVA Mexico participated as placement agent in the transaction through which Fibra EXI, one of Mexico’s leading road infrastructure platforms and one of the most relevant in Latin America, issued Energy and Infrastructure Investment Trust Certificates (CBFEs) for a total amount of MXN 4.299 billion.
The proceeds obtained from the offering will strengthen FEXI’s financial structure following the recent acquisition of the León–Salamanca toll road (CIBSA), a key asset for connectivity and economic development in the Bajío region. Its incorporation increases Fibra EXI’s exposure to toll road assets and strengthens the diversification of its infrastructure portfolio.
According to Álvaro Vaqueiro Ussel, Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at BBVA Mexico, “this transaction contributes to the development of transportation infrastructure in Mexico, which, in addition to promoting regional connectivity, enables investors to access a portfolio of strategic toll road assets through the capital markets. In this regard, the bank remains committed to supporting its clients in projects that foster investment and the country’s economic development.”
FEXI is managed by Mexico Infrastructure Partners (MIP), one of the most important infrastructure and energy managers in Latin America, with a distinguished track record in the development and management of strategic assets across the region.
The Salamanca–León toll road is approximately 80 kilometres long and serves as a key connection route for the area’s industrial, logistics and commercial activity. Its incorporation increases Fibra EXI’s exposure to toll road assets and strengthens the diversification of its infrastructure portfolio.
Through its participation in this transaction, BBVA continues to support companies and investment vehicles in infrastructure-related transactions, contributing to the financing of projects that promote connectivity and economic activity across different regions of the country.
