BBVA elected the best investment bank in Spain, Mexico and Peru in 2024 by Global Finance

These recognitions underscore BBVA's leadership and ability to offer innovative and effective solutions in investment banking.

BBVA has been chosen as the "Best Investment Bank in Spain", "Best Investment Bank in Mexico", and "Best Investment Bank in Peru" for 2024 by Global Finance magazine in its 25th edition of the "Best Investment Bank Awards 2024".

For the ninth consecutive year, the bank has been considered the best investment bank in Spain, as well as the best investment bank in Mexico for the eighth time. In addition, this is the first time that BBVA Peru has been recognized in this category. These three awards support BBVA's commitment to investment banking, underscoring its leadership in offering innovative and effective solutions in each of these geographies.

Jose Ramón Vizmanos, head of BBVA CIB Spain, says: "It is an honor to have been named the best investment bank in Spain. In a year marked by economic uncertainty, we have focused on being very close to our clients, supporting them in their transformation process toward a more sustainable future. This award is a recognition of our firm commitment to digitalization and sustainability and encourages us to continue leading the industry's transformation."

Álvaro Vaqueiro, head of BBVA CIB Mexico, explains: "This award fills us with great satisfaction, since being the leader for eight consecutive years is not an easy task. Mexico is a market with very important and sophisticated clients and a very competitive environment. This context presents us with challenges that drive us to continue providing the best specialized products and services to our clients."

Frank Babarczy, head of BBVA CIB Peru, remarks: "We are very grateful to Global Finance for the recognition, which reflects our ability to create value for our clients, leveraging both our profound knowledge of the Peruvian market and BBVA's global skills. Our closeness to our corporate clients and our understanding of their specific needs enable us to offer them tailor-made solutions and a complete advisory service, with a focus on sustainable and innovative products."

In Spain, BBVA has maintained its position as one of the most active lenders, particularly in its role as a sustainable coordinator in terms of the number of transactions – 11 mandates as of September 30, as indicated by Refinitiv – despite a challenging market context with less M&A activity. BBVA Mexico has consolidated its leadership by being the top financial advisor in the country: Their experience and knowledge of the market, together with an experienced team specialized in key sectors, have ensured their success in both local and cross-border transactions. In Peru, BBVA has excelled in Corporate Lending, offering customized solutions to meet the financing needs of energy and infrastructure projects. Their ability to adapt to the enterprise value chain and their focus on large-scale strategic solutions have been key to their success.

These achievements reflect BBVA's strength and ability to navigate complex markets and deliver financial solutions that drive growth in the economies where it operates.

Global Finance selects its winners based on objective factors such as market share, number and size of deals, service and advice, structuring capabilities, distribution network and innovation, among others, to score and select the winners, based on a proprietary algorithm.

BBVA is proud to receive these prestigious awards, proof of its continued commitment to excellence in financial services worldwide. The bank would like to thank Global Finance for these recognitions, and reaffirms its vocation for continued innovation and for offering first-class solutions in all the markets where it operates.
