BBVA strengthens its global leadership in treasury and cash management with six Global Finance awards in 2025

Global Finance magazine has recognised BBVA as one of the world’s leading banks in treasury and cash management services in its 2025 annual awards. The bank has been honoured in six key categories, consolidating its leadership across Spain, Turkey, Colombia, Mexico, and Venezuela.

BBVA has further reinforced its status as a benchmark in corporate financial services, having been recognised in the “Annual World’s Best Treasury & Cash Management Banks 2025” awards, granted by Global Finance. In this 25th edition, the bank has been named ‘Best Treasury and Cash Management Bank’ in Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, and Turkey. Additionally, BBVA has been awarded ‘Best Bank for Long-Term Liquidity Management’ in Latin America, in recognition of the robustness of its offering and its ability to address the treasury needs of its clients.

This recognition reflects the ongoing trust placed in BBVA by corporate and institutional clients, as well as the bank’s commitment to delivering innovative, reliable, and high-value solutions across diverse and complex markets.

“It is an honour to receive this recognition, which belongs entirely to BBVA’s exceptional team. Their dedication, professionalism, and daily commitment to service excellence are what make achievements like this possible. These awards are a testament to our ability to provide clients with the most advanced and secure treasury management solutions on the market, tailored to their ever-evolving needs,” said Fernando Díaz Hernando, Head of Cash Management and Working Capital Solutions at BBVA CIB.

The significance of these awards lies in Global Finance’s rigorous evaluation process, which combines formal submissions, expert analysis, independent research, and the opinions of senior corporate executives. The magazine assesses both objective criteria such as profitability, market share, and reach, and subjective factors including innovation, service quality, and the ability to differentiate in a highly competitive market.

These accolades reinforce BBVA’s strong position in Latin America and Turkey while marking a strategic milestone with its recognition in Spain, reflecting the bank’s progress in strengthening its product offering and regional presence.

Commitment to global excellence

The awards also highlight the role of BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking as a key international player in treasury and cash management solutions, and its steadfast commitment to developing innovative and sustainable propositions. Thanks to its global reach and presence in strategic markets, the bank offers a comprehensive suite of treasury services to its clients. Among these are advanced digital solutions that enable companies to optimize cash flows, automate processes, and gain visibility and control over their liquidity on a global scale.

BBVA’s Global Transaction Banking (GTB) unit has set the development of local capabilities in trade finance and treasury management as one of its strategic objectives for 2025. In doing so, the bank facilitates more efficient operations in increasingly complex local and international environments.
