BBVA strengthens Türkiye’s global investment dialogue in London
BBVA successfully hosted the 1st BBVA Türkiye Conference in London on 21 May 2026, reinforcing the Group’s long-term commitment to Türkiye and its strategic positioning as a key connector between the country and international institutional investors.
Organized together with Garanti BBVA, the conference brought together more than 300 participants, including global investors, corporates, policymakers and senior executives, in a landmark event focused on Türkiye’s macroeconomic outlook, investment opportunities and strategic relevance within Emerging Markets.
The conference featured high-level participation from both the Turkish public and private sectors. The opening remarks were delivered by BBVA CEO Onur Genç, followed by keynote interventions from Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Treasury and Finance of Türkiye, and Fatih Karahan, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye.
Throughout the day, attendees participated in a series of discussions and panels covering macroeconomic trends, monetary policy, corporate perspectives, sustainability and the evolving role of Türkiye in the global economic and geopolitical landscape.
The event also facilitated more than 160 bilateral meetings between investors, issuers and corporate representatives, fostering direct dialogue and strengthening connections between Türkiye and the international investment community.
The strong attendance and seniority profile of participants reflected growing investor interest in Türkiye and highlighted BBVA’s role as a trusted financial partner capable of creating high-value platforms for institutional engagement.
