Euromoney names BBVA Best FX Bank for Emerging Currencies in Latin America
BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) receives the regional recognition, alongside the awards for Best FX Bank in Spain, Colombia and Turkey.
Euromoney has named BBVA CIB Best FX Bank for Emerging Currencies in Latin America, recognizing its ability to operate across some of the region’s most relevant and complex markets. The bank has also been named Best FX Bank in Spain and Türkiye for the second consecutive year, and in Colombia for the third.
One of the aspects highlighted by Euromoney has been BBVA’s presence across Latin America, supported by deep knowledge of local markets and the capabilities of a global platform. This position has been further strengthened recently through the expansion of BBVA’s FX capabilities in Brazil, a strategic market for the development of the regional franchise. The bank is also expanding its activity to serve an increasingly diverse client base, with a greater focus on institutional clients, complementing its longstanding presence among large corporates and small and medium-sized companies.
This local market knowledge is complemented by BBVA’s economic and financial research capabilities across Latin America. Its teams combine in-depth knowledge of the region with a global macroeconomic and FX perspective, providing clients with analysis that helps them navigate the environment and make informed decisions. BBVA has consistently ranked among the leading forecasters for key Latin American markets, reflecting the quality of its research and its accumulated knowledge of the region.
"This award recognizes the work we are doing to build an FX franchise that is increasingly connected to our clients and the markets in which they operate. Our aim is to go beyond execution and offer a comprehensive proposition that combines local knowledge, global reach, technology and advanced solutions to help clients manage their risks and capture the opportunities offered by emerging markets," said Luis Martins, Global Head of FX & G10 Rates (Macro) and Head of Global Markets UK at BBVA CIB.
BBVA’s global FX platform continues to evolve through new investments in technology, including the deployment of a new pricing engine, as well as the development of more advanced derivatives solutions. This is complemented by a strong position in FX clearing services, with particular strength in ForexClear for non-deliverable forwards (NDFs), offering clients efficient and scalable solutions to trade and manage risk in emerging-market currencies.
These awards reflect the evolution of a franchise that combines market knowledge, close client relationships and global capabilities to address the increasing complexity of the FX markets. In Latin America, BBVA offers an increasingly comprehensive proposition, spanning research and execution as well as technology, derivatives and clearing.
