Euromoney recognises BBVA as a leader in DCM and Securities Services in Spain

The international publication has named BBVA CIB a winner in two categories at its 2026 Awards for Excellence, recognising its performance in debt capital markets and Securities Services in Spain.

BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) has received two awards in Spain in the 2026 edition of the Euromoney Awards for Excellence: ‘Best Investment Bank for Debt Capital Markets (DCM)’ and ‘Best Bank for Securities Services’. This double recognition strengthens BBVA’s position in two strategic areas of its wholesale banking business.

In Securities Services, Euromoney recognises BBVA’s strength as a provider of custody, settlement and securities administration services in Spain. The bank combines deep knowledge of the local market with the technological, operational and international capabilities of a global financial group, in an increasingly demanding regulatory and operating environment.

“This award recognises the trust that the market places in BBVA and the work of a highly experienced team with a strong service-oriented approach. We remain committed to supporting the evolution of the sector through a robust, close and forward-looking proposition, designed to respond to emerging challenges,” said Fernando García Rojo, Head of Sales for Global Securities Services at BBVA CIB.

In DCM, Euromoney recognises BBVA’s position as a leading bank in Spain’s debt capital markets, as well as the strength of a model built on comprehensive advisory, execution excellence, innovation and sustainability. The bank supports companies, financial institutions and public-sector entities throughout the entire financing cycle, from designing the most appropriate structure to distribution, investor engagement and balance-sheet optimisation.

The award also highlights BBVA’s ability to lead pioneering transactions, including the first issuances in Spain under the European Union’s EU Green Bond Standard, and to structure complex, international transactions spanning corporate and high-yield issuances, hybrid financing, liability management transactions and multi-product solutions.

“Above all, this recognition is an endorsement of the work of a team that combines experience, sector expertise and the ability to anticipate opportunities,” said Reyes Bover, Head of DCM Europe at BBVA CIB. “The recurring trust of our clients and the opportunity to participate in their most strategic transactions reflect the strength of the relationships we have built over time.”

The two awards consolidate BBVA CIB’s position in wholesale banking in Spain and recognise the strength of its capabilities in both debt capital markets and Securities Services.
