In the fourth episode of BBVA Greenfluencers we have the opportunity to can find out how the decarbonisation of the aviation sector is being carried out through a conversation with Teresa Parejo, Head of Sustainability at Iberia.
The conversation takes place at the La Muñoza facilities, animposing setting comprising more than 220,000 square metres dedicated to aircraft maintenance. Teresa Parejo details how complex decarbonisation can be in the aviation sector but highlights how Iberia is striving to achieve results in this area: “Aviation can be more sustainable. Iberia, part of IAG Group, has set out a strategy based on four pillars, the first being the environmental pillar, which encompasses a series of initiatives relating to efficient operations. These are fleet renewal, more efficient operations and the use of sustainably sourced aviation fuels.”
Teresa Parejo, during her conversation with Olga Eguilior, Head of Global Clients Spain BBVA, tells us how Iberia wants to share with society and stakeholders the importance of aviation as an active agent in growth and social prosperity through connectivity. We are all well aware that air transport is a facilitator and promoter of the economic and social development of territories and countries.
